S/N 0373 was originally ordered for Philippe
Washer, a very well known tennis player in Belgium at the
time,. Philippe’s cousin, Olivier Gendebein used the
car in the celebrated Liege-Rome-Liege race of 1956 with navigator
Peter Stasse, finishing third overall. Wire mesh stone guards
were fitted to the car to protect the main and auxiliary lights.
S/N 0373 is one of 36 Europa GT’s built. S/N 0373 is
still used for its original intended purpose. It finished
second in the Original PanAm class in the 1999 LaCarrera Panamericana
and won the class in 2000. The car also took part in a Ferrari
Historic Challenge event at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit
in Belgium in April, 1999. The Ferrari was also entered in
the 1999 Mille-Miglia, a 1000-mile rally from Brecia, Italy
to Rome and back. S/N 0373 was also the featured automobile
in the 1999 running of the Liege-Rome-Liege rally.
